My Specialty

I have particular expertise supporting neurodivergent individuals and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, including those exploring identity, coming out, later-realization or self-diagnosis, accommodations, internalized ableism, and experiences of queer/transphobia. Other areas in which I have extensive knowledge include crisis intervention and safety planning informed by individuals’ social locations and known systemic injustice.

I strive to practice from a collaborative, compassionate, non-judgmental, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive framework. Modalities which I currently draw from include:

  • Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT)

  • Solution-focused therapy (SFT)

  • Internal family systems (IFS)

  • Motivational interviewing (MI)

  • Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)

My Experience

I studied psychology at Brock University (2013-2017), where I conducted research on disenfranchised grief and co-facilitated a mental health club (Brock TWLOHA UChapter) to promote awareness, connectedness, and wellbeing within the student community. After a (needed) break from formal education, I earned my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University in 2025.

I’ve volunteered and worked in various clinical settings for over a decade (both community-based and in the private sector). My background includes children’s behavioural and mental health services, drop-in and solution-focused counselling, crisis intervention, school-based programs, and live-in treatment settings. I’ve worked with youth and their families navigating complex emotional, behavioural, and systemic challenges. I also have experience supporting children and youth dealing with school avoidance, with a focus on anxiety, emotion regulation, and exploring the underlying factors contributing to stress. This work emphasized gradual, sustainable engagement that honoured each young person’s unique needs and capacities.

More recently, I’ve gained valuable clinical experience working in group practice with adults navigating executive dysfunction, anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, grief, identity exploration, self-esteem issues, and life transitions. I continue to engage in personal and professional development opportunities, as I build my skillset and fill my toolbox for clients.
